I'll start here with the reasoning from a rather excitable young lass. Following up from the recent Alaska landslip at Tracy Arm the narrator here explains a similar scenario that presently exists in a Norwegian Fjord that when it occurs will totally wipe out the peaceful tourist destination and surrounds. Not a world wide catastrophie but a lead up for following posts.

Kind regards,

Cascadia Earthquake prediction for North America including History I never knew.

Regards,

Bally.

There was big flat landslide in Norway years ago ,all to sea .....i dont remember the location now.

Years ago we were driving in Norway, it was winter .....had plan to drive from Oslo to Bergen but winterstorm come and they closed the highway in mountain . We had to re-route another road from North, where we allmost got flushed to lake by snow avalanche from mountain as we drived the road .

You couldn't pay me enough to live in Seattle or in that area in general. It's a ticking time bomb waiting to happen and if it's not one thing, it's another like maybe volcanoes?

My daughter lives in Washington but fortunately her and her husband live in the central southern part which should be far enough away from these disasters.

I seem to recall a Norwegian movie was done on that.

The Cascadia Earthquake prediction has been talked about for decades in Oregon. Coastal Real estate market goes into panic mode every time a new science paper comes out about it. Some areas on the coast you can buy a beach summer house for relatively cheap, but good luck getting any flood insurance. You have to buy in cash as nobody is going to give you a loan.

There are some coast areas with very high cliffs at the shore. About 10 or so years ago some marine biologists discovered some ancient marine fossils up on the top of the plateau that shouldn't exist. Geologists and other academia were called out to answer the mystery. They believe marine life was carried up there and deposited by a giant tsunami. They estimated the wave was 320 feet high when it hit the shoreline.

I lived far enough inland and on other side of mountain range to not be impacted by the ocean. However, I lived close enough to be wiped out by a volcano if one ever came out of its slumber like Mt St. Helens. The next one that has been predicted to erupt (with pyroclastic flows) is Mt Rainier. That whole town at the base and everybody in it will be wiped out, buried.

Yeah. That's what this guy thought too.
