I posted a while back about looking for a new car. Didn't even have to be new, just gently used and Oh My God did I find one. I kinda put the word out on the local grapevine that I was looking and it got passed along to friends and friends of friends, so this guy I know came to the house a couple days ago with a car and it looked familiar. It was his Mom's. "was" is the key word.


She bought the car in 2014 and is not much of a driver, but is a stickler when it comes to servicing and keeping them clean. I knew her and you DID NOT eat, drink or smoke in her car. Now....what is it ? A 2014 Subaru Legacy AWD with....get this...47,762 miles. I did the math. That mileage on a 12 year old car is just a little less than 4,000 miles per year. He showed me the service record. Oil change every 2,000 miles. Why so often ? *shrug* That just how she was.

Heated leather seats and the interior is immaculate. Stains wouldn't show their face around her. This car is as clean as the day it rolled off the production line.

His Mom had been sick for a few years now and when she passed, they didn't know what to do with it, because they and their kids didn't really need another car, so he thought I may be interested. He wanted $12,000 for it.

Did I buy it ? Damn Skippy. It's sitting in my driveway as we speak.

I don't know if it's that or I'm just damn picky when it comes to used cars. From the time I decide to buy one and actually buying it is anywhere from 4 to 6 months. There's always that one great deal out there, you just have to be patient enough to find it and then jump on it when it comes up.

Ive had so much better experiences with low mileage used then new, its always a good idea to have family and friends in a wide area that know you in the market and your tastes.
